What is identity verification? What kind of documents are required?
Based on The Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds in Japan, forwarding companies need to provide for verification of client identity. The law is to prevent money laundering and credit card fraud.

The following items are required for identity verification.

- Name
- Date of birth
- Current address

Required documents are as follows.

<1> Proof of identity with name and date of birth

- Identity card issued by government, financial institutions, educational affiliates
- Driver's license
- Passport
- Insurance card

- Driver's license
- Passport
- Bank/credit card statement
- Utility bill
- Mobile phone bill
- Rental lease agreement

What should I do if my package is stopped at customs?

It’s been a week since I received the notification that the shipment was completed, but I still haven’t received the package. How can I check?
If you have not received your package even after one week has passed since you received the “Shipping Completion Notification” email from “Giffromtjapan”, your package may be in the following situations.
1.Customs duties are imposed at each country’s customs, and we are waiting for the customer to pay the customs duties.
2. The customer was not present when the package was delivered, so the package was returned.
There have been cases where the storage period has passed without the “Absence Notice” and “Customs Duty Notice” being delivered to the customer at the local post office in each country, and the package has been returned to Japan.
If the package has not arrived one week after receiving the “Shipping Completion Notification” email from “Giffromtjapan”, we will notify the customer that “Giffromtjapan” has not received the package and request a copy of the delivery receipt. Please bring your identification card and the two copies of the delivery slip we gave you, and follow the instructions at your local post office.
When receiving my package overseas, can I specify the date and time for it to be delivered?
You cannot specify the delivery date and time. If you are not present, an “absence ticket” will be mailed to you. Based on the absence note, please request a re-delivery from your local UPS delivery company. However, please note that there are some countries and regions where redelivery is not available.
Can I choose how to ship my products overseas?
Currently, only UPS is available.
Can I purchase items using “Cash on Delivery (COD)” or “Freight Collect”?
If you choose to pay for items on an online shopping site using “Cash on Delivery (COD)” or “Freight Collect,” we will not be able to receive your package. In such cases, the package will be returned to the sender, and the domestic return shipping costs may be charged to you by the online shopping site.

What items are considered prohibited goods?
The following items are classified as prohibited goods and cannot be forwarded to overseas addresses. Please take note of this when shipping your items.
